Saxon releases new single and video ahead of 25th studio album

British heavy metal band Saxon has released a new single and music video for ‘Gods of Thunder’ in anticipation of their 25th studio album. The full-length album is scheduled for release on January 22, 2026.

Produced by frontman Biff Byford and mixed by Andy Sneap, the upcoming work explores themes of history, fantasy, horror, and mythology. Lyrical content includes historical references such as the execution of Anne Boleyn and the Battle of the Alamo.

The band has also announced the first dates for the ‘Gods of Thunder – World Tour,’ which includes stops in Wolverhampton and Glasgow in February.
