Saxony-Anhalt voters show policy gaps with political parties

A recent survey regarding the upcoming state election in Saxony-Anhalt reveals discrepancies between voter positions and party platforms. Using a tool developed by scientists at the University of Potsdam, more than 1,300 eligible voters compared their views on issues such as climate protection, migration, and the school system with the stances of various political parties.

The data indicates that supporters of the AfD and CDU hold significantly more liberal views on certain socio-political issues than their respective parties. While there is stronger alignment between voters and parties regarding migration, the survey highlights gaps in areas like economic growth versus climate protection and the structure of the educational system.
