Saxony mother on trial for abandoning son naked in forest

A mother in Saxony, identified as Susann S., appeared in court in Dippoldiswalde regarding an incident in November 2025 where she abandoned her eight-year-old son naked in a forest near Sadisdorf.

The incident occurred during a cold, rainy night with temperatures near freezing. According to court proceedings, the mother forced the child to undress and exit the vehicle. When the boy attempted to re-enter the car, the mother drove away, causing the child to collide with the vehicle. The boy suffered severe abrasions and a serious traumatic brain injury, requiring three days of hospital treatment.

During the trial, the mother, a trained educator, testified through tears that she was overwhelmed following a weekend of conflict and did not know what she was doing at the moment. She stated she never intended to harm her son and called emergency services after the collision. The child is currently residing in a care facility.
