Saxony sports clubs to compete in 2026 challenge

The „So geht sächsisch.“-Vereins-Challenge has opened registration for a multi-city sporting competition scheduled for November 23 to 27, 2026. Organized by the Landessportbund Sachsen, the event invites athletes from across Saxony to compete for their respective clubs across five locations: Dresden, Leipzig, Chemnitz, Bautzen, and Plauen.

Participants will compete in three disciplines—cycling, rowing, and ski ergometers—aiming to cover the greatest distance in 30 minutes. The competition features a total prize pool of 250,000 euros, with winning clubs from various district and city sports federations receiving 5,000 euros each.

To be eligible, clubs must have more than ten members and be registered members of the Landessportbund Sachsen. The event schedule includes Bautzen on November 23, Dresden on November 24, Plauen on November 25, Leipzig on November 26, and Chemnitz on November 27.
