Sayama City to host 37th Sayama Grand Tea Ceremony in November 2026

The 37th Sayama Grand Tea Ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 8, 2026, at Emi Park Sayama Inariyama in Sayama City. This annual autumn event aims to promote the history and culture of Sayama tea, which is recognized as one of Japan’s three major tea varieties.

The event will feature various tea ceremonies, including outdoor tea sessions (nodate) held in a natural park setting. Activities include ikebana flower arrangements, demonstrations of hand-rolled tea production, traditional music performances, and sales of Sayama tea, gyokuro, and Japanese sweets.

Tickets for the tea sessions are available for 700 yen and can be purchased through the Sayama City Hall or online. A special exhibition of local products from Tsunan Town, Niigata Prefecture, will also be held as part of the festivities.
