Sayville woman killed in targeted attack at Long Island home
Authorities are investigating the death of 62-year-old Rachel Frislid, who was killed in what police believe was a targeted attack inside her Sayville, Long Island, home.
Frislid was discovered unconscious by a family member at approximately 8:30 p.m. on a Thursday at her residence on Pearl Court. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina stated that investigators do not believe the incident was a random attack.
A significant police presence at the scene led Sayville Public Schools to hold indoor recess as a precaution, though administrators noted there was no imminent threat to students or school buildings.
Frislid was a well-known member of the community, a grandmother, and a businesswoman who managed Academy Tent Rentals of Bohemia. She had also been active in local volunteer work and chamber of commerce activities.
