Sazgar Engineering expands Pakistani operations with Rs. 22 billion investment

Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW) is undertaking a Rs. 22 billion expansion of its automotive operations in Pakistan. The investment includes the development of a new paint shop and other facilities, with completion expected within nine to ten months.

To maintain price stability while awaiting clarity on the government’s upcoming auto policy, the company is currently absorbing the impact of the 18% General Sales Tax rather than passing the full cost to consumers.

SAZEW is also diversifying its product portfolio with a focus on new energy vehicles. Planned launches include the BAIC Cannon Alpha at a competitive price, alongside the Tank 300 and Haval Jolion Max. The company is increasing its emphasis on plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and intends to introduce the ARCFOX electric vehicle brand. To support this growth, SAZEW is expanding its retail network, aiming to add five to six new dealerships to its existing 32 outlets.
