Formula E concludes GEN3 era in London as legends retire

The Formula E season concludes this weekend at the London E-Prix, marking the end of the GEN3 era and several significant departures from the championship.

Two of the series' most prominent pioneers, Sébastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi, are both stepping away from active competition. Buemi, who has competed in all 12 seasons since the series' inception, will transition into an advisory and development role for Envision Racing. Di Grassi, a former champion, is retiring from professional racing after a career that helped shape the electric series.

Additionally, DS Automobiles is concluding its 11-year tenure in Formula E. To commemorate their departure, the DS Penske team will run a special gold livery during the final races in London.

On the competitive front, the championship titles remain undecided. Jake Dennis leads the Drivers' Championship, narrowly ahead of Mitch Evans, while Jaguar TCS Racing and Porsche are in a tight battle for the Teams' title. The event at the ExCeL London circuit serves as the final showdown before the championship transitions to the GEN4 era and moves to Brands Hatch in 2027.
