Sébastien Delogu faces complaint over unpaid child support

French lawmaker Sébastien Delogu, a member of the LFI party, is facing a legal complaint for ‘abandon de famille’ (family abandonment) following nearly 20,000 euros in unpaid child support. Reports indicate that since March 2025, Delogu has failed to regularly pay the monthly 1,200 euro pension for his two children, aged 13 and 15.

The arrears have reached approximately 19,800 euros. Attempts to recover the funds through the Agency for the Recovery and Intermediation of Alimony (Aripa) and a bailiff were unsuccessful. It is noted that some funds may be held in an account linked to the National Assembly rather than a private account, and the public treasury reportedly prioritized recovering a separate 5,000 euro debt.

During police questioning in late August, Delogu cited financial difficulties, including seizures resulting from previous convictions, to explain the non-payment. He also claimed a lack of communication with his children, stating they ‘do not respond’ to him. He further alleged that his ex-partner does not allow him to see them. Additionally, a second complaint regarding the alleged ‘soustraction d’enfant’ (child abduction) has been mentioned in connection with an incident where he took his son without informing the mother.
