Sébastien Loeb to compete in inaugural Rallycross World Cup
Nine-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb has announced his participation in the inaugural FIA Rallycross World Cup, scheduled to take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, this December. The event follows a restructuring by the FIA, which replaced the previous world championship with a European championship for 2026, adding this specific World Cup as a season finale to expand the sport's global reach.
In France, the Lohéac Rallycross circuit is celebrating its 50th anniversary this weekend. The event features a high-level international lineup, marking a significant milestone for the venue which has hosted major competitions since 1976. The Lohéac organizers previously moved away from the world championship circuit in 2021 due to strategic disagreements regarding the transition to electric vehicles.
