Sébastien Ogier apologizes for incident at Rally Paraguay

World Rally Champion Sébastien Ogier has issued a public apology following an “inappropriate incident” during the Rally Paraguay involving FIA President Mohammed Bin Sulayem and Paraguayan President Santiago Peña. The apology, released via social media, follows a weekend of frustration for the Toyota driver, who experienced tire blowouts and a suspension failure.

Ogier had previously expressed strong dissatisfaction with the WRC tire supplier, Hankook, stating the equipment was “not up to World Championship standards” and described the situation as “simply a lottery.”

Separately, Ogier addressed his evolving relationship with teammate Sami Pajari. The veteran driver admitted he initially doubted the young Finn's ability to handle the immense pressure of the WRC, but conceded he was mistaken. Ogier noted that Pajari has shown impressive maturity and speed, particularly with his recent podium performance in the WRC2 category, which has strengthened the Toyota team's competitive dynamic.
