Polish motorsport teams win speedway derby and claim podiums in European rally events
Dakar Development Stal Rzeszów defeated Cellfast Wilki Krosno 47‑43 in the derby match at Krosno, winning the two‑leg tie 93‑87. Team manager Krzysztof Kasprzak said the track was dangerous but praised driver Oskar Fajfer for staying safe and helping secure the victory.
In the Acropolis Rally in Greece, the Polish duo Tymek Abramowski and Jakub Wróbel finished second in the WRC3 class, marking their third podium of the season across snow, asphalt and gravel surfaces. Despite early punctures, they recovered to lose less than 42 seconds to the winners and moved up to fourth place in the season standings.
The European Rally Championship will stage the Rome Rally from 3‑5 July, featuring 46 Rally2 entries. Italian crews dominate, but three Polish teams will contest the ERC3 class: Igor Widłak/Kamil Heller, Sebastian Butyński/Łukasz Jastrzębski and Błażej Gazda/Michał Jurgała. Established ERC competitors Miko Marczyk, Szymon Gospodarczyk and Jakub Matulka (with Patryk Kielar) will also start, bringing the total entry list to 126 crews.
