Sébastien Pocognoli names Scotland squad for Nations League
Newly appointed Scotland head coach Sébastien Pocognoli has announced his squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign. The selection follows the resignation of Steve Clarke after Scotland's exit from the 2026 World Cup group stage.
The squad features a blend of veteran leaders and seven uncapped players. Notable inclusions are Sevilla forward Robbie Ure, following a successful stint with Swedish club Sirius, and several new faces including Stephen Welsh, Colby Donovan, Luis Binks, and Luke Graham. Established players such as Andy Robertson, Kieran Tierney, and Billy Gilmour remain central to the group.
Several key players are unavailable for this campaign. Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay is sidelined while recovering from recent heart surgery, and Ché Adams is out due to injury. Pocognoli emphasized that while the squad includes younger talent, the selection was based on current performance rather than a desire to experiment solely for the sake of change. The upcoming campaign includes matches against Slovenia, Switzerland, and North Macedonia.
