SBB Baskets Wolmirstedt prepare for ProA season despite penalties

The SBB Baskets Wolmirstedt are preparing for the upcoming ProA basketball season despite recent administrative and regulatory challenges. Following the departure of Managing Director Cindy Rössel in July, the club underwent a licensing process. While the club successfully secured its license, it must pay a 10,000 euro fine and will begin the new season with a four-point penalty due to discrepancies found during the procedure.

Sport Director Kevin Magdowski expressed confidence in the team's ability to overcome the point deficit, citing the experience of the roster and coaching staff. The club also noted improved training conditions following a move to a new facility in Magdeburg, which provides significantly more flexible access to training hours.

To bridge the gap before the first home game in October, the club is organizing the ‘Buckets for Magdeburg’ show event at the Alten Markt. The event will feature a celebrity tournament and dunk contests to maintain fan engagement during the preseason.
