Sberbank Rises to 64th in Fortune Global 500, Surpassing Tesla

Sberbank, Russia's largest bank, secured the 64th spot in the 2025 Fortune Global 500 list, moving ahead of Tesla (116th) and Nike (336th). Its revenue rose 36.8% to $135.1 billion and profit increased 19.5% to $20.4 billion, climbing 152 positions over two years and becoming the highest‑ranked Russian firm among nine Russian companies on the list.

The ranking placed Amazon, Walmart (US) and State Grid (China) in the top three. Sberbank, which has operated in India for more than 15 years with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and an IT hub in Bengaluru, announced plans in June 2026, via Deputy Chairman Anatoly Popov at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, to build a new office centre in Delhi to serve as a hub for Russian businesses in India.
