SBO AG expands 3D metal printing capacity in US and UK

SBO AG, listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange, is expanding its 3D metal printing capabilities in the United States and the United Kingdom to meet rising demand in the aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy sectors.

In the United States, the company has increased its manufacturing space in Houston, Texas, by 50% to over 2,100 square meters. Capacity has been bolstered by the installation of Renishaw 500Q and VELO XC printers, which are capable of processing high-performance alloys such as titanium and Inconel. Two additional VELO XC printers are expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2026.

In Europe, SBO’s subsidiary, 3T Additive Manufacturing, was named ‘Tech SME of the Year’ at the 2026 Thames Valley Tech & Innovation Awards. These expansions align with SBO’s strategy to capitalize on the additive manufacturing market, which is projected to grow from USD 1.5 billion in 2025 to USD 4.8 billion by 2030.
