Carolina Bori Science & Women Prize opens applications for female researchers

The 8th edition of the Carolina Bori Science & Women Prize is currently accepting applications until October 30. Promoted by the Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science (SBPC), this year’s award is dedicated to the “Girls in Science” category.

The prize aims to recognize young female talents in high school and undergraduate studies whose scientific initiation research demonstrates creativity, methodological rigor, and potential to contribute to the future of science. Six winners will be selected: three from high school and three from undergraduate programs, distributed across three major areas of knowledge: Humanities, Biological and Health Sciences, and Engineering, Exact Sciences, and Earth Sciences.

Winners will be announced by January 15, 2027. Prizes include a trophy, cash awards (R$ 10,000 for high school and R$ 13,000 for undergraduate students), the opportunity to present their work at the 79th SBPC Annual Meeting, and exclusive mentorship with renowned researchers. Applications must be submitted via an online form.
