SBS announces premiere for true crime series The Jury: Skeleton in the Garden

SBS has announced the premiere date for the second season of its Australian true crime series, ‘The Jury: Skeleton in the Garden’. The five-part original production is scheduled to debut on Monday, October 5, on SBS and SBS On Demand.

The series restages a real manslaughter trial using professional actors to recreate proceedings word-for-word from 1,700 pages of original court transcripts. The narrative focuses on the disappearance of a woman whose remains were discovered buried in a defendant’s former backyard a decade after she vanished. Due to a lack of forensic evidence regarding the time, location, or cause of death, a new jury of twelve Australians must weigh testimony and credibility to determine guilt or reasonable doubt.

Produced by Northern Pictures in association with SBS and Screen NSW, the series explores how jurors' personal biases and life experiences influence their decision-making process.
