SBS closes informal companies Yonda and Osma Perú in Lima

The Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS) has ordered the closure of two informal companies, Yonda and Osma Perú, for illegally collecting public savings in the San Isidro district of Lima.

The companies operated out of the same location and utilized “contratos de mutuo” (loan contracts) to attract clients by promising high fixed monthly interest rates and the return of capital at the end of the contract term. According to the SBS, Osma Perú acted as a referral service, directing clients to Yonda in exchange for commissions.

Despite previous orders from the regulator to cease these activities, both entities continued to operate and accept money from the public. Consequently, the SBS has filed criminal complaints with the Ministerio Público against the representatives of both companies for unauthorized financial intermediation and disobedience to authority.
