SBS University Students Provide On‑Field Medical Care at Uttarakhand Sports Events

Students from SBS University in Dehradun gained practical clinical experience by delivering on‑field medical and physiotherapy support at several major sporting events in Uttarakhand. At the 42nd Gold Cup cricket tournament organised by the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand, the postgraduate MPT Sports team treated 11 athletes, handling conditions such as acute bleeding, hamstring pulls, calf cramps, ankle sprains and knee or shoulder pain.

The same student team also offered physiotherapy services at the Uttarakhand Wushu Championship held at Maharana Pratap Sports College, treating more than 100 elite athletes with injuries including shoulder dislocations, ankle sprains and severe contusions. A further deployment saw physiotherapy students supporting 25 national ice‑skating athletes during a training camp organised by the Ice Skating Association of India at the Rajeev Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Raipur.
