SBS Viceland to air engineering documentaries on coastal and naval projects

SBS Viceland is scheduled to broadcast two engineering-focused documentaries on Saturday, 15 August 2026.

“Offshore Superstructures” examines large-scale coastal engineering projects, including land reclamation in Monaco, the preservation of Mont Saint-Michel, and the construction of the Ile de Re bridge. The program explores how designers and engineers manage environmental pressures such as tides and storms to protect infrastructure and communities.

“Superships of the Future” provides a look into modern naval engineering and maritime power. Featuring access to Naval Group, the documentary covers the development of aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, and autonomous mine-hunting drones, highlighting how automation and new technology are reshaping naval strategy.
