SBT to broadcast rare and uncut Chaves episodes for 45th anniversary

To celebrate its 45th anniversary, the Brazilian broadcaster SBT is preparing a special programming event featuring rare and restored episodes of the Mexican sitcom Chaves. Scheduled for August 19 and 20, 2026, the broadcast will utilize the station's tape archives to present historical versions, rare dubbing, and previously unreleased content.

A major highlight of the event is the uncut version of the episode “Quem com Catapora Fere, com Catapora Será Ferido,” which includes a scene that has been absent from the version commercialized by Televisa since 1992. Additionally, the episode “Um Finíssimo Tecido Made in Taubaté” will be shown with a secondary dubbing produced in 1990 that has never been aired on television.

The materials have undergone image restoration and audio treatment to ensure quality for the anniversary celebration. This initiative follows the series' return to SBT in 2024 after a licensing agreement with Televisa.
