SC Braga vs. Gil Vicente match postponed due to illness

The Primeira Liga match between SC Braga and Gil Vicente FC, originally scheduled for this Sunday, has been postponed to a date yet to be determined. The decision follows a widespread outbreak of gastrointestinal infections within the SC Braga squad.

The illness reportedly began during the team's recent trip to Bulgaria for a match against Dinamo Minsk. Symptoms, which include fever, headaches, vomiting, and diarrhea, have worsened significantly over the last 48 hours. A medical specialist in Public Health and Occupational Medicine confirmed the severity of the situation, noting that the symptoms are expected to persist for 48 to 72 hours and that further cases may emerge due to contact with symptomatic players.

Currently, SC Braga has only three goalkeepers and seven outfield players available. The club stated that the postponement was made in coordination with Liga Portugal and Gil Vicente FC to maintain competitive integrity and prevent increased injury risks for the athletes. The club aims to have players recovered for their upcoming European fixture next Thursday.
