SC Preußen Münster appoints Morten Behrens as first‑choice goalkeeper
SC Preußen Münster has confirmed Morten Behrens as the starting goalkeeper for the upcoming 3. Liga season, ending weeks of speculation over the role of 23‑year‑old Johannes "Jojo" Schenk. Coach Thomas Wörle announced the change ahead of the pre‑season friendly against FC Southampton.
Schenk, who has publicly expressed a desire to move to a higher‑level club, has been absent from training since early September. His market value is estimated at €1.5 million and he remains under contract with Münster until 2028. No concrete transfer offer has materialised, though clubs such as St. Pauli, Braunschweig, Hannover 96, Paderborn, Union Berlin, Hertha BSC and Arminia Bielefeld have been mentioned as interested. A loan move is also being considered as a possible interim solution.
The club hopes the appointment of Behrens, now wearing the number 1 shirt, will bring stability to the goalkeeper position while negotiations over Schenk’s future continue.
