SCAD announces film festival lineup and honors emerging animators

The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) has highlighted upcoming industry events, including the 10th annual SCAD AnimationFest and the 29th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival.

At the SCAD AnimationFest, ten animators were recognized as the ‘2026 class of 10 Animators to Watch’ in partnership with Variety. The honorees represent a global cohort from countries including Ireland, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada, and the United States. The group includes professionals working in hand-drawn, stop-motion, and CG animation at major studios such as Pixar, Disney, DreamWorks, and Sony Pictures Animation.

The SCAD Savannah Film Festival is scheduled to take place from October 24 to October 31, 2026. The lineup features gala screenings, professional and student competitions, and various panel series such as ‘Behind Their Lens.’ The festival aims to provide students with direct access to industry professionals and emerging cinematic voices.
