SCAD Savannah Film Festival announces 2026 Docs to Watch lineup

The SCAD Savannah Film Festival and The Hollywood Reporter have announced the 10 standout documentaries selected for the 13th annual ‘Docs to Watch’ panel. This event serves as a significant milestone for nonfiction films on their path toward Academy Award recognition.

The 2026 selections include: ‘American Doctor’ by Poh Si Teng, ‘Avedon’ by Ron Howard, ‘Cookie Queens’ by Alysa Nahmias, ‘Everest: The Other Side’ by Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, ‘The Last First: Winter K2’ by Amir Bar-Lev, ‘My Undesirable Friends: Part II – Exile’ by Julia Loktev, ‘Once Upon a Time in Harlem’ by William Greaves and David Greaves, ‘One in a Million’ by Itab Azzam and Jack MacInnes, ‘The Trial of Alec Baldwin’ by Rory Kennedy, and ‘You Can See Everything’ by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim.

Over the last 12 years, the panel has seen 27 films receive Oscar nominations, with eight winning the award for Best Documentary Feature. The upcoming panel is scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday, October 28, at the Lucas Theatre.
