SCAD Savannah Film Festival returns for 29th anniversary

The 29th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival is scheduled to take place from October 24 to October 31. Organized by the Savannah College of Art and Design, the eight-day event features a diverse program including competition films, documentaries, shorts, animated films, and narrative features.

As a significant stop on the path to the Academy Awards, the festival provides a platform for both emerging talent and established industry professionals. Signature programs include Variety’s “Artisans to Watch” and “Pixels and Pencils,” The Hollywood Reporter’s “Docs to Watch” series, Entertainment Weekly’s “Breaking Big” panel, and Deadline’s “TV Sidebar.”

The festival serves as a professional nexus, offering SCAD students opportunities to engage with industry leaders through master classes, portfolio reviews, and networking events. The event utilizes SCAD’s historic theaters and studio spaces to host screenings and panel discussions.
