Scalea and other Italian coastal towns emerge as affordable autumn travel destinations

According to research from Airbnb, cost is a primary factor for 85% of Italian travelers when choosing accommodations, with 64% noting that price has become more influential over the past year. This trend has driven interest in autumn travel, where nightly rates are significantly lower than during the summer months.

Scalea, located in Calabria, has been identified as one of the top 10 most affordable Italian destinations for the low season. Other notable budget-friendly locations include Porto San Giorgio, Montecorice, Calenzano, Lavena Ponte Tresa, Leggiuno, Borghetto Santo Spirito, Minturno, San Benedetto del Tronto, and Martinsicuro.

In terms of regional interest for the autumn season, Trentino-Alto Adige leads the rankings, followed by Sardinia, Emilia Romagna, Sicily, and Lazio. For international travel, Italian users are primarily searching for destinations in Asia, with Japan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Malaysia being the most popular choices.
