Scalea authorities investigate suspicious liquid spill

Authorities in Scalea have launched an investigation following the discovery of a suspicious liquid spill in a private area near via Tommaso Campanella. Municipal technicians confirmed a leak from a plastic pipe that created a malodorous pool on the ground.

The leak may have been caused by a recent vegetation fire in the area. In response, the pipe has been sealed and secured. Officials are currently conducting further assessments to trace the origin and outlet of the piping to determine if any illegal activities or liabilities are involved.

The environmental association Italia Nostra has also requested formal clarification from the Municipality of Scalea, Arpacal, and the Asp. The group is seeking information regarding the nature of the intense green liquid, its legality, and potential risks to public health and soil safety.
