Scality launches Maestro fleet management platform

Scality has announced the general availability of Scality Maestro, a fleet management platform designed for service providers managing large numbers of Scality ARTESCA object storage deployments. The platform aims to address the operational challenges of scaling backup-as-a-service (BaaS) offerings, where providers must monitor and maintain numerous individual deployments across various customer sites.

Scality Maestro provides a centralized interface for health monitoring, alerting, and end-to-end management down to the hardware layer, including software upgrades and server firmware updates. It also offers aggregated capacity utilization data to facilitate automated pay-as-you-go billing. Notably, the platform utilizes an out-of-band connectivity architecture that eliminates the need for VPN tunnels, as traffic flows from ARTESCA to Maestro rather than the reverse.
