Scandiano mourns passing of longtime municipal police officer Franco Valenti

Franco Valenti, a highly respected former municipal police officer in Scandiano, has passed away at the age of 89. Known affectionately by locals as ‘il vigile’, Valenti served the community for decades, including a period as temporary commander of the local municipal police.

Former mayor Valter Franceschini praised Valenti as a precious collaborator and a friend. His daughter, Marzia, described him as a patient and sunny individual who prioritized the safety of children and sought to educate citizens rather than simply punish infractions. Valenti was noted for his deep commitment to his family and his ability to connect with the community through his years of service.
