Scania graduates 11 female truck operators in Jalisco
Scania has celebrated the graduation of the ninth generation of its ‘Conductoras Scania’ program, marking the initiative's first expansion into Guadalajara, Jalisco. Eleven women completed professional training as tractor-trailer operators in collaboration with the Jalisco Institute for Work Training (IDEFT).
This cohort is the second developed under the ‘Mujeres Conduciendo el Cambio’ (Women Driving Change) initiative, a joint effort between Scania and the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) in Mexico, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the develoPPP program. The program's arrival in Jalisco leverages the state's status as a major industrial and logistics hub in Mexico.
To date, the program has graduated a total of 91 women in Mexico. Beyond technical driving skills, the training includes soft skills, personal budget management, and psycho-emotional support provided by ProSociedad. The initiative aims to increase female representation and professional development within the heavy transport and cargo industry.
