Scania launches new Super bus generation in Argentina
Scania has introduced its new Super generation of buses in Argentina, designed to improve operational efficiency and profitability in the long-distance and intercity transport segments. The new model features an integrated powertrain including a 13-liter engine with 420 or 460 horsepower, a 14-speed transmission, and optimized differentials. According to the company, these technological advancements promise a fuel savings of at least 8% compared to the previous generation.
The launch is supported by Scania’s industrial presence in Argentina, specifically its plant in Tucumán, which manufactures engines, transmissions, and axles. These components are exported to serve as an industrial hub for the rest of Latin America.
Scania currently holds approximately 43% of the Argentine market in this segment. The company expects to sell around 350 units this year and aims to exceed 400 units by 2027, driven by increased tourism demand and the necessity for fleet renewal in the long-distance sector.
