Scania opens first used vehicle hub in San Luis Potosí

Scania has opened its first specialized hub for used and multi-brand vehicles in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. The project represents an investment of 4.5 million pesos and adds 1,500 square meters of operational space to the company's existing branch in the region.

The facility includes 10 specialized service bays dedicated to the inspection, reconditioning, and preparation of used units. To reduce uncertainty for buyers, each vehicle undergoes a technical review consisting of a checklist of up to 100 points, covering areas such as safety, powertrain, mechanical performance, chassis, suspension, and cabin functionality.

According to David Hernández, Scania's national manager for used vehicles, the initiative aims to support small and medium-sized transporters who need to renew fleets without exclusively purchasing new units. The strategy seeks to provide greater certainty regarding resale value and extend the brand's support throughout a vehicle's useful life by offering maintenance policies and history traceability.
