Óscar Brito calls for investigation into Yucatán land invasions

Federal Deputy Óscar Brito of the Morena party has called for an investigation into potential economic and political interests driving illegal land invasions and road blockades in Yucatán. Brito warned that certain individuals may be exploiting the housing deficit by occupying plots and subsequently offering fraudulent regularization services or documentation.

While emphasizing that the fundamental right to dignified housing should not be criminalized, Brito stressed that access to land must occur through legal and institutional mechanisms. He urged citizens to consult official sources and avoid paying unauthorized individuals for land promises. Additionally, he noted that while the state can intervene in government-owned lands, private property disputes require specific legal procedures.
