Óscar García criticizes Ajax departure and predicts championship

Former Ajax manager Óscar García has expressed disappointment regarding his departure from the club last summer. Speaking to NU.nl, the Spanish coach stated he is convinced he would have achieved significantly better results with the current squad than was accomplished last season.

García, who is currently managing Pogon Szczecin in Poland, noted that while he felt he maximized the previous squad's potential to secure European football, the current roster under technical director Jordi Cruijff is championship-caliber. He predicted that Ajax will win the league title this season, regardless of whether he is the coach or not.

Reflecting on his exit, García explained that the lack of communication in the final weeks of the season indicated the club was moving in a different direction. Although his departure was a major disappointment, he expressed no regrets about his temporary appointment at the club.
