Mexico deputy proposes judicial election reform for 2028

Deputy Carlos Eduardo Bello Solano has presented an initiative to harmonize the State Constitution with the federal constitutional reform regarding the Judiciary. The proposal aims to facilitate the first election of local judges and magistrates in 2028.

Representing the Morena party, Bello Solano noted that the 2024 federal reform significantly transformed the justice model by involving citizens in the selection of judicial officials. The initiative seeks to refine the regulatory design following the national elective experience scheduled for June 1, 2025.
