Jean Alain Rodríguez requests exclusion of evidence in corruption trial

Former Attorney General Jean Alain Rodríguez has requested the exclusion of thousands of pieces of evidence and the return of seized assets during his corruption trial in the Dominican Republic. His legal team argues that much of the evidence, including an audit from the Chamber of Accounts, was submitted outside of the established legal deadlines.

Rodríguez is facing charges in the ‘Medusa Case’ involving alleged administrative corruption during his tenure. The prosecution claims the scheme caused damages to the state exceeding RD$6,000 million through irregularities in public contracting, money laundering, and embezzlement.

The defense has also petitioned for the revocation of search and seizure orders for several properties, including a residence in Casa de Campo, asserting that these are family assets acquired through legitimate means prior to his time in office.
