Scarlet Benzán emerges as potential mayoral candidate for Santo Domingo Oeste

Scarlet Benzán is emerging as a potential candidate for the Mayoralty of Santo Domingo Oeste in the 2028 municipal elections. Members of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) are promoting her candidacy, highlighting her background in public management and social leadership.

Benzán currently serves as the Vice Minister of Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of the Presidency and is the national secretary for Growth of the PRM. Her professional experience in business administration and entrepreneurship is viewed as a potential asset for municipal management, particularly in creating opportunities for youth, women, and small businesses.

If elected, Benzán would face significant local challenges in Santo Domingo Oeste, including solid waste management, infrastructure deterioration, urban mobility, territorial planning, and the need for improved public spaces and drainage systems.
