Scarlett Salice disappearance: Father continues search in Black Forest
Six years after Scarlett Salice disappeared while hiking in the Southern Black Forest, her father, Ralf Salice, continues to lead search efforts. Scarlett, then 26, was last seen on September 10, 2020, via supermarket surveillance footage in Todtmoos.
While a death investigation was closed two and a half years after her disappearance due to a lack of evidence of a crime, the case remains open. The Freiburg Police Headquarters reported that they receive an average of three to four new leads per month, totaling 641 tips to date, though no decisive breakthrough has occurred.
Volunteers and a dedicated Facebook group, ‘Bitte findet Scarlett’, which has nearly 4,700 members, assist in the search. These groups use drones, metal detectors, and climbing equipment to explore difficult terrain along the Schluchtensteig trail. Ralf Salice is scheduled to travel to Todtmoos again this coming weekend, marking his fourth trip to the area this year.
