Scarnafigi chapel restoration reveals Roman artifacts
The Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Scarnafigi has been restored following a comprehensive project funded by the PNRR. The restoration included structural improvements, such as roof repairs and new gutter installation, to protect the building from weather damage.
During the works, archaeological findings included the foundations of an ancient portico, an 18th-century coin, and Roman artifacts, suggesting the site may have hosted older structures prior to the current chapel, which dates back to the late 1200s. Furthermore, studies conducted during the project confirmed that the internal frescoes are attributed to the 15th-century master Pietro da Saluzzo.
