SCGP to invest 9,846 million baht in Thailand production expansion

SCG Packaging (SCGP) has announced a 9,846 million baht investment to expand its plasterboard liner production capacity. The expansion will take place at the Siam Kraft Industry factory, a wholly-owned subsidiary located in Kanchanaburi, Thailand.

The project aims to increase production capacity by approximately 400,000 tons per year. The new machinery is expected to be highly flexible, capable of producing both plasterboard liner and premium linerboard for corrugated boxes. This flexibility is intended to support existing full-capacity operations in Thailand and Vietnam, allowing the company to adjust product proportions based on market conditions.

SCGP expects the new production line to begin commercial operations in the fourth quarter of 2028. The company stated that the investment is a strategic move to meet the growing global demand for lightweight construction materials and to maintain its leadership in high-value product lines.
