Schadl family continues to earn millions via enforcement offices despite suspensions

Financial reports reveal that the wife of György Schadl, a former head of the Hungarian Bailiff Corps facing corruption charges, earned 105 million forints last year through her enforcement office.

Despite both György Schadl and his wife being suspended from performing bailiff activities, they continue to profit from their offices through a system of permanent replacement. Two other independent bailiffs, Szabolcs Kovássy and Zsófia Nóra Bihari, have taken over the management of the offices in exchange for a 10 percent ownership stake. This arrangement allows 90 percent of the profits to remain with the Schadl family.

In the Schadl-Baranyai and Társa Enforcement Office, out of 117 million forints in total profit, 105 million forints were allocated to Schadl's wife. The reports indicate that profits are distributed according to ownership shares and partially allocated to reserves or dividends. Schadl's own office has not yet released its financial reports, though it was previously noted that he earned 249 million forints over the preceding three years through his ownership interests.
