Schaeffler and Neura Robotics expand humanoid robot production and training

Schaeffler has opened a 7,500-square-meter facility in Taicang, China, dedicated to the production of components for humanoid robots. At this site, six humanoid robots are tasked with assembling joint modules for other humanoid systems, handling processes such as sorting, joining, testing, and packaging. The facility also serves as a training center to prepare robots for industrial duties like material transport and visual inspections. Schaeffler reports a global order volume of approximately 400 million euros in the humanoid robotics sector, bolstered by new customers in China.

In Germany, the Technical University of Munich and Neura Robotics have launched the ‘RoboGym’ at Munich Airport. This 17-million-euro project aims to advance physical AI by training humanoid robots, mobile assistants, and robotic arms for practical tasks in logistics, healthcare, and manufacturing. The center utilizes real-world data, human demonstrations, and simulations to help robots understand the interaction between materials and physical forces. Neura Robotics plans to expand this training infrastructure to the USA, China, and other parts of Europe.
