Schalke 04 extends Edin Dzeko's contract and targets Ermin Mahmic

Schalke 04 has secured a contract extension with veteran striker Edin Dzeko following the club’s promotion to the Bundesliga. Dzeko, who joined the German side in January 2026, scored six goals in eleven appearances, playing a vital role in the team's return to the top flight. The 41-year-old expressed his desire to continue contributing to the team's success in the elite division.

In addition to retaining Dzeko, Schalke 04 is reportedly exploring the acquisition of 21-year-old Bosnian midfielder Ermin Mahmic from Slovan Liberec. Mahmic, who gained attention during the 2026 World Cup, is being considered as a potential addition to the club's growing Bosnian contingent, which already includes Dzeko and coach Miron Muslic.
