Schalke and Gladbach ultras officially announce friendship
The Ultras Gelsenkirchen (UGE), the largest supporter group for FC Schalke 04, have officially announced a friendship with Sottocultura, the ultra group representing Borussia Mönchengladbach.
According to the Schalke fan group's fanzine, ‘Blauer Brief’, the connection between the two groups dates back to the early 2000s. While the relationship fluctuated over the years, it has strengthened significantly over the last decade. The groups have frequently supported one another at matches, with members occasionally traveling together between fan buses.
The formalization of this bond occurred this summer, turning a long-standing informal connection into an official partnership between the two supporter organizations.
