Scheduled power outages announced for Chennai and parts of Pakistan

Scheduled power outages have been announced for several regions in India and Pakistan on Saturday, August 29, due to planned maintenance and development work.

In India, electricity supply will be suspended in parts of Chennai, including Guindy, Enjambakkam, and Sithalapakkam, from 9 am to 2 pm. The shutdown affects various residential and industrial areas such as Guindy Industrial Estate, ECR Enjambakkam, and several local streets and colonies.

In Pakistan, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has scheduled interruptions across the Islamabad, Jhelum, and Chakwal circles. In Islamabad, outages are expected between 6 am and 11 am in areas including Faisal Masjid, G-8, and G-9. Jhelum and Chakwal will also experience disruptions during morning hours. Additionally, maintenance on 132kV circuit breakers and lines will affect various sectors throughout the day. IESCO noted that supply may be restored earlier if work is completed ahead of schedule.
