Water supply interruptions affect multiple Romanian towns in July 2026
On 15 July 2026 Aquabis reported a water‑service interruption from about 09:00 to 14:00 in the Romanian localities of Chiuza, Piatra, Uriu and Ilișua while repairs are carried out on the distribution network. Consumers were advised to let the water run for a few minutes before use to clear possible turbidity.
The following day, 16 July 2026, Aquatim announced scheduled works on the water‑distribution system in the Timiș County localities of Cadar, Chevereșu Mare and Iohanisfeld. From 09:00 to 14:00 residents of Cadar and Chevereșu Mare experienced reduced water pressure due to network flushing and maintenance, while Iohanisfeld faced a full supply cut for pipe‑decoupling work. Aquatim advised customers that water may appear cloudy after the works and to avoid using it for domestic purposes until it clears.
Both operators indicated that the measures are necessary to modernise and maintain the water infrastructure and that service is expected to resume normal levels after the scheduled periods.
