Schermi Cinema Multipiazza film festival expands to Cosenza and Rome

The itinerant film festival ‘Schermi – Cinema Multipiazza’, organized by the association Divina Mania, has successfully completed its recent stages in Cosenza and announced its upcoming sixth edition in Rome.

In Cosenza, the festival transformed the San Vito and Via Popilia neighborhoods into open-air cinemas. Supported by the Calabria Film Commission as part of the ‘Bella come il cinema’ project, the initiative aimed to promote social inclusion and territorial valorization by bringing culture to peripheral areas. Local officials noted the event's success in providing young people with access to cinematic expression.

The festival is scheduled to conclude its sixth edition in Rome from September 17 to 20, 2026. The program will feature free screenings in various locations, including Pietralata, Sapienza University, Rebibbia, and Garbatella. The Roman leg will include film presentations and talks, featuring actors such as Lino Guanciale, to foster community engagement through cinema.
