Scheyern Abbey to inaugurate new Geitauer Alm chapel

Scheyern Abbey is set to inaugurate a new chapel on the Geitauer Alm on September 6 to commemorate the 950th anniversary of the founding of Bayrischzell. The construction, located at an altitude of 1,331 meters, is nearing completion following a dry summer that helped offset earlier weather-related delays.

The chapel features natural stone walls and a larch wood roof, designed to integrate into the protected ensemble of local mountain huts. Abbot Markus Eller will lead the consecration service and altar blessing at 11:00 AM.
